The system is an electronic module that is installed to, any vehicle, during its production process. The system uses a combination of a Global Positioning System(GPS), a communications device, a microprocessor, identification tag and vehicle interface. The system is preprogrammed wit the geographic area that it is intended to operate within and will identify ongoing attempts to use the vehicle outside of that territory. Once this is identified it will restrict the subsequent use of the vehicle until an approval code is received and/or ownership is verified/confirmed. The system may also communicate its geographic position and/or vehicle specific information to/from external authorised parties. This channel of communication may also be used to legitimately change the programming of the system. The system works in conjunction with the main vehicle electronics and connects through an interface. The system and vehicle 'brains' are uniquely coded to one another to prevent use of components from other vehicles. The system therefore becomes a critical element of the vehicle electronics.
