The operating unit (10) has a hermetically sealed metallic cap (12) arranged within a housing (52) of a surgical electric power tool (50). The cap defines a bearing surface (20) for a finger on an exterior. Within the cap is a pressure sensor (28), which is connected to the bearing surface with an electrical contact (24) projecting from the cap. An independent claim is included for a surgical electric tool, and a calibration method.
