A rotary shuttle device of a sewing machine is provided to hinder a bottom thread from being hanged on a hook, thereby preventing the bottom thread from being cut, by using a bottom thread guard installed at one side end of a main wall of a bobbin case base. A rotary shuttle device comprises a hook body(20) installed on a driving shaft(10) and having a first hook(22), a bobbin case consisting of a bobbin case base and a bobbin case body(50), and a bobbin(40) installed within the bobbin case. A bottom thread is wound around the bobbin. A stud(31) is installed on the bottom of the bobbin case body. A main wall consists of a first section(36) having a track formed from a base portion, and a second section continuing from the first section and having first and second side ends(37a,37b). A flange part(38) is formed at an end of the second section of the main wall, and protruded in an outward direction of a radius of the main wall. A fixing groove(33) is formed nearly to the first side end of the second section of the main wall so that the flange part is fixed to a sewing machine body. A needle hole(34) is formed adjacently to the fixing groove. The needle passes through the needle hole while the needle falls. A bottom thread guard(35) is protruded from the first side of the main wall, thereby preventing the bottom thread from being hanged on the hook body.
