A method and an apparatus for washing or hydration of ophthalmic devices are provided to make a fluid wash lens insides lower trays of a stacking portion continuously when lens are stacked inside trays moving upwardly. A device support member includes a cavity(29), a first surface, a second surface, a support portion and one or more cavity inserts. The first surface provides a support surface for a first ophthalmic device. The second surface includes a second ophthalmic device, which is supported by a second device support member when the second device member becomes adjacent to the device support member. The cavity insert includes an injection molded plastic. The device support member includes an injection molded plastic. The cavity guides the fluid through the device support member in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the second ophthalmic device.
