#CMT# #/CMT# The device is for the preparation of shellfish such as mussels and forms a mussel pan (1). It comprises a holder (2) provided with a base (5) and a peripheral wall (4). This wall at its lower end is terminated by the base. The wall has an open upper end (6) located opposite to the base. The open upper end (6) is limited by an upper edge (7) of the peripheral wall. A lid (9) rests on the upper edge, thus closing the open upper end. The lid is made of transparent glass or plastic. #CMT# : #/CMT# In the holder is an insert piece (10) fitted loosely in the holder and has a dividing wall or separation wall (11) and a rise pipe (12). The dividing wall divides the holder interior into an upper space (14) for the mussels and a lower space (15), which during use is at least partly filled with water. In order to give the mussels a specific taste, the lower space under the dividing wall is provided with greens, wine and/or herbs. The dividing wall is conical and its lower edge rests on the base of the holder.
