An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the throughput of products by using a liquid crystal dispensing method in manufacturing an LCD having a touch screen function. An upper display plate and a lower display plate are formed(S100). A sealant is applied to either the upper display plate or the lower display plate(S102,S104). Liquid crystal is dispensed into the sealant(S106). The upper display plate is combined with the lower display plate(S108). In order to form a detection part on the upper display plate, a lower ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) resistive film is formed on the upper display plate. A lower contact electrode is formed around the lower ITO resistive film(S110). An upper ITO resistive film is formed on an upper polarizing plate. An upper contact electrode is formed around the upper ITO resistive film(S200). The upper polarizing plate is attached to the upper display plate so that the upper ITO resistive film can face the lower ITO resistive film(S300).
