A multimedia signal serial transmission device is provided to extract only video data, on which the blanking section of a video signal is removed, convert audio signal into 1-bit serial data, add the 1-bit serial data to video data and transmit the video data, thereby enabling the single channel transmission of multimedia signals to remove signal interference between channels and reducing a data transmission rate to improve transmission speed. A multimedia signal transmission unit(100) includes a timing encoder(110), an audio signal serial converter(120), a line encoder(130), a serial converter(140) and an optical transmitter(150). The audio signal serial converter extracts single channel audio data from an audio signal outputted from a source device by using a video signal clock, serializes the audio data into 1-bit data, and adds the 1-bit data to video data outputted from the timing encoder. The optical transmission unit modulates the serialized data into an optical signal and transmits the modulated optical signal. A signal channel optical transmission medium(200) transmits an optical signal transmitted from the multimedia signal transmission unit. A multimedia signal reception unit(300) includes an optical reception unit(310), a parallel converter(320), a line decoder(330), an audio signal parallel converter(340), and a timing decoder(350).
