A computer system and a control method thereof are provided to cancel termination and operate again the computer system while the termination progress, and execute the computer system differently according to a time point for terminating at least one of an application program and an OS(Operating System). A user input unit(110) receives a command from a user. A storing unit(130) stores termination cancellation modes for canceling the termination of the computer system. A control unit(170) cancels termination of the computer system according to the termination cancellation mode when a termination cancellation command is received through the user input unit while at least one of an application program(160) or an OS(150) is terminated by a received termination command. The controller unit displays a screen for setting the termination cancellation mode to a display unit(140) to receive whether the termination cancellation mode is set through the user input unit.
