METHOD OF DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF ACTIVE ABRASIVE GRAINS ON A CONDITIONING DISK

A method for measuring the number of active abrasive grains on a conditioning disk is provided to prevent the accuracy of measurement results from deteriorating due to variation of flatness during the manufacturing process of a sheet. A method for measuring the number of active abrasive grains on a conditioning disk comprises a step of allowing a conditioning disk to be in contact with a hard surface such that a surface of the conditioning disk, which contains abrasive grains, faces the hard surface. In a state in which load is applied to the conditioning disk toward the hard surface such that random active abrasive grains existing on the surface of the conditioning disk leave marks, respectively. The number of the active abrasive grains on the conditioning disk is measured by calculating the marks formed on the hard surface.
