A release device for the casing (2) of a munition (1) containing an explosive charge (3) initiated by a priming fuse (5), consisting of a connecting ring (7) fixed to (and allowing fixing of the fuse to) the casing, includes a breakable, shearable connector (10) between fuse and the connecting ring, such that the connection is sheared as a result of a pressure increase within the casing.
