<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image adjustment method with which productivity is retained and accuracy in image adjustment, and to provide an image forming apparatus therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A toner image formed on a photoreceptor or intermediate transfer body based on an input image signal is transferred to a transfer material on a conveying means, thereby forming an image. In this case, if it is discriminated based on the discrimination of image forming conditions that an image adjustment process is performed during the image formation, a plurality of adjustment processes capable of being performed in the area of the interval of a transfer material conveyance on the conveying means, such as separate image adjustment processes for corresponding colors, are performed while image formation is continued. On the other hand, if it is discriminated that the image adjustment process is performed during the stop of image formation, pattern images for the corresponding colors are arranged on the conveying means in the conveying direction, thereby performing an image adjustment process including the image adjustments between colors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
