<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display which prevents an increase in unwriting voltage due to a decrease in writing time of data voltage in a display system of reducing blur of a moving picture by forming one frame with two fields having different luminance. <P>SOLUTION: In a bright field, a gate voltage Vg is applied during a period Vgt2 twice a scanning line selection time, and thereby the unwriting voltage is reduced as Vr2. In a dark field on the other hand, the gate voltage is applied for the scanning line selection time as usual, thereby eliminating increase of the unwriting voltage Vr1.
