PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of PM and smoke even though an air-fuel ratio is controlled to a side richer than present level in accordance with a state of an exhaust emission control means.
SOLUTION: An exhaust emission control device for a multi-fuel internal combustion engine operated by at least one of at least two kinds of fuels (a first fuel F1, a second fuel F2) different in properties, is provided with an air-fuel ratio control means (an electronic control unit 1) for increasing an air-fuel ratio control variable to a rich side as a PM/smoke suppressing degree of fuel introduced in a combustion chamber CC which is responsive to operating conditions (engine rotation speed and engine load), becomes higher when an air-fuel ratio during combustion is controlled to a side richer than present level in accordance with a state of an exhaust emission control means 72.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
|
