PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean a printing head without impairing a printing head or worsening the condition of a surface treatment such as water repellent treatment applied to the surface of the printing head. SOLUTION: This printing equipment 1 has a cleaning device 3 which has a cleaning bed 40. A foamed layer 36 is formed by blowing a cleaning liquid 35 supplied onto the cleaning bed 40 and the printing head 20 is brought into contact with the foamed layer 36. Consequently, a deposit 29 is dissolved into the cleaning liquid 35 and removed. Since the surface where a discharge orifice 25 of the printing head 20 is formed, does not come into contact with the cleaning device 3 or any other member, the printing head 20 is not impaired.
