<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for suppressing influences of a plurality of audio contents on each other as the contents are heard in a circumferential area when the audio contents are reproduced by nearby speakers. <P>SOLUTION: Sound characteristics of a content that an audio signal represents, i.e. a sound volume level and frequency characteristics are detected from the audio signal, and acoustic processing for (1) adjustment of the sound volume level, (2) correction of the frequency characteristics, and (3) addition of a masking sound are performed for the audio signal based upon the detected sound characteristics. Through the above acoustic processing, a listener can listen to the content directed to himself or herself without being aware of a noise due to a content reproduced in other area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
