PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data registration support apparatus for use in registering data in a database, which solves the problem that an existing method for registering data in a database may not relate data in records to be registered to database items in data registration. SOLUTION: A registration database has a plurality of items into which data are classified, and stores records each composed of a set of data belonging to the items. A data registration method registers data in the database by the following procedure. Data to be registered is acquired. A correlation value is computed between the data to be registered and every data identified by each item and each data record of the database. An item candidate is determined for which the data to be registered corresponding to the correlation value is registered in accordance with data corresponding to the correlation value and the items to which the data belongs.
