PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paint which allows saving a great deal of labor to remove sticking shellfishes, is harmless to a human body, does not destroy an oceanic ecosystem, and can be applied to the outer wall of a ship and the inner wall of a seawater transferring pipe. SOLUTION: The paint for preventing shellfish from sticking comprises capsicine at a weight ratio of 1/100,000 or higher based on the total of solid components, or a capsicine-containing powder from vegetable materials containing capsicine at a weight ratio of 1/100,000 or higher based on the total solid components.
