PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and simple thermotherapy apparatus capable of executing local warming without using a large scale device in the thermotherapy apparatus warming a subject body using a cavity resonator. SOLUTION: This thermotherapy apparatus which includes the cavity resonator 1 as a cavity resonance means, a high frequency oscillator 2 as a high frequency supply means for supplying a high frequency electric power to the cavity resonator 1, a high frequency amplifier 5, a tuning/matching circuit 6, and a controlling circuit 8 as a control means for controlling the high frequency oscillator 4, the high frequency amplifier 5 and the tuning/matching circuit 6 and warms the subject body 2 using an electromagnetic field distribution inside the cavity resonator 1; is further provided with an electric field focusing means 9 inside the cavity resonator 1. The field focusing means can focus the field distribution to locally warm the subject body based on the focused electric field 10, so as to provide this thermotherapy apparatus capable of improving the therapeutic effects.
