PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve washing by blocking an increase in generated bubbles. SOLUTION: The drum type washing machine or the drum type washing/drying machine has a cylindrical outer tub which is provided in an outer frame cabinet to store washing and rinsing water and a cylindrical washing drum tub which is rotatably disposed in the outer tub to house laundry and the axis line of the rotation of the washing drum tub is made horizontal or diagonal. Hot air is made to blow away the generated bubbles. An air suction selector valve is switched to make an air circulation path for drying communicate with the outside air to start the operation of a heater and an air fan, thereby feeding the hot air to the washing drum tub.
