A method and an apparatus for processing a mixed signal are provided to reproduce a remix signal in a storage medium or in a data format where a supplementary data region does not exist by embedding supplementary information in a mixed signal. An embedded signal decoding unit(1502) extracts coded supplementary information embedded in a non-perceptual region of a mixed signal including one or more source signals. A supplementary information decoding unit(1504) decodes the coded supplementary information to generate supplementary information. A remix rendering unit(1506) generates a remix signal by using the supplementary information, the mixed signal and a user mix parameter. The supplementary information indicates the relationship between a source signal to be remixed among the source signals and the mixed signal, and the user mix parameter is generated by using control information obtained from a user.
