PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information management system in which information recorded from a product subjected to position coding is managed based on its position contents. SOLUTION: The information management system includes a plurality of products provided with a position code, a plurality of digital pens capable of reading the position codes, and a server means communicating with the digital pens in a communication network. The server means includes a position database which associates positions coded by the position code with rules for information management. The digital pens are arranged to transmit information registered on the product in the form of a position which is coded by the code position to the server means through a first communication path. The server means further includes an interface unit, and actors in the system, are allowed to enter data into and retrieve data from the database of the system through a second communication path.
