PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely mount each developing cartridge in its set position in a rotary unit and to effectively prevent axial movement of the mounted developing cartridge. SOLUTION: When each developing cartridge is inserted into the rotary unit along the axial direction in a non-developing position, the pressing part 25 of the pressing means 21 of the rotary unit comes into contact with the small inclined face 26a to be pressed of the member 26 to be pressed of the developing cartridge. When the developing cartridge is further inserted by the prescribed quantity, a lever 23 is rotated and the pressing part 25 comes into contact with the large inclined face 26b to be pressed of the member 26 to be pressed. Since the pressing part 25 presses the large inclined face 26b to be pressed by using the pressing force of the spring 24, the developing cartridge is automatically inserted and mounted in its set position. In this state, the pressing part 25 is in contact with the large inclined face 26b to be pressed and a parallel face 26c to be pressed at two points.
