PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing, preventing the unnecessary reverse turning of a supporting member, while easily adjusting an erroneous return-suppressing force by forming an empty space allowing an elastic deformation on the compressing contact of the moving member, at the inside of a braking member. SOLUTION: This spinning reel is provided by forming an attaching part 1d consisting of a circumferential directional groove at the side base part of a brim part 1c of a tubular part 1a in the front side of a reel main body 1, and fitting a braking member 5 consisting of a synthetic rubber and having elasticity. The cross section of the braking part 5a of the braking member 5 is formed as the empty space A by one side 5d fitted at the attaching part 1d consisting of the groove, a circular part 5e standing from the one side 5d and another side 5f extending from the circular part 5e in another direction as one unit at its inside as an approximately U-shaped cross section, and the empty space A is made as the space part for allowing the elastic deformation of the circular part 5e to the inside on the compressing contact of the moving member 6.
