The device has a U-tube (15) to be filled with fluid (5), and a unit (20) for rotating the U-tube. Another unit (25) is provided for determining gas spread (30) within the fluid during rotation of the U-tube. The U-tube includes partial regions (15a, 15b) that run perpendicularly and are connected with each other through a partial region (15c) that runs horizontally. The U-tube has a support (15d) that is connected with the rotating unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring gases e.g. air, that are released into a fluid.
