The device for connecting the beginning of a new metal band with the end of an old metal band, comprises spaced lower and upper stamps having punching tool, and spherical elements (18) formed above the lower stamp (4.1-4.6) and below the upper stamp (2.1-2.5). The ends of the bands to be connected are pushed between the upper- and the lower stamp. The upper stamps plunge into the free spaces between the lower stamps during punching/cutting process. The stamps have narrower part (13) and widened part (15). The widened part of the punching-/cutting stamp is formed up to a side of the stamp. The device for connecting the beginning of a new metal band with the end of an old metal band, comprises spaced lower and upper stamps having punching tool, and spherical elements (18) formed above the lower stamp (4.1-4.6) and below the upper stamp (2.1-2.5). The ends of the bands to be connected are pushed between the upper- and the lower stamp. The upper stamps plunge into the free spaces between the lower stamps during punching/cutting process. The stamps have a narrower part (13) and a widened part (15). The widened part of the punching-/cutting stamp is formed up to a side of the stamp. The new band is pushed over the old band locking with the inflow side of the punching tool, until it locks with the outflow side of the punching tool, so that both bands overlap itself around the width of the punching tool. The overlapped band ends are provided with notch pairs. Out-curved lining grouting elements are alternatively arranged upward and downward between the overlapped bands from the band level. The transition of the narrower part obliquely runs to the widened part of the stamp. The obliqueness of the device is 45[deg] . The corners of the stamps are rounded off. The upper and lower stamps are arranged in a row transverse to the rolling direction of the bands and are movably arranged to each other in two parallel rows for the production of punching connections arranged in a zigzag line. The grouting elements of the bands are wedged upward and downward with one another from the band level in the punch-connected condition. The both bands are wedged together by tractive forces reversed on both the bands.
