The present invention is directed to lubricating oils exhibiting improved resistance to oxidation and deposit/sludge formation comprising a lubricant base oil and an effective amount of a catalytic antioxidant comprising one or more polymetal organometallic compound, to a method for improving the ant ioxidancy and the resistance to deposit/sludge formation of formulated lubri cating oil compositions by the addition thereto of an effective amount of th e aforementioned polymetal organometallic compound, and to an additive conce ntrate containing the aforementioned polymetal organometallic compound.
