摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device and an electronic apparatus that can improve the response speed of liquid crystal without performing overdrive processing. SOLUTION: A pixel comprises a first sub-pixel 20 and a second sub-pixel 30. The electrooptical device includes a signal supply unit 13 which supplies a predetermined signal turning on or off a switching element 34 to a control line connected to a switching element 34 of the second sub-pixel 30, a control circuit 14 which inserts black in a blanking period, a grayscale value detector 15 which detects a grayscale value of image data supplied from the outside, and a determination unit 16 which determines whether the detected grayscale value is within a predetermined range wherein the grayscale value is regarded as a gray level. When the grayscale value is determined to be a gray level and a switching element 24 of the first sub-pixel 20 is on, the signal supply unit 13 supplies the predetermined signal to the control line W to turn off the switching element 34.
