PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform lead-out operation of an optical fiber, without damaging the optical fiber in the slot groove of a slot core of an optical fiber cable in intermediate post branching. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 1 comprises: a slot core 7 having a slot groove 5 which houses the optical fiber 3; a sheath 9 which covers the periphery of the slot core 7; and a lip cord 11 which is added longitudinally in the sheath 9. Furthermore, an eccentric sheath structure is adopted where the sheath 9 has a sheath thickness which is relatively larger on the side of an open part 13 of the slot groove 5 than on the opposite side of the open part 13 of the slot groove 5. The lip cord 11 is disposed in the sheath 9 at a position opposite to the open part 13 side of the slot groove 5, as well as, in the outer periphery of the slot core 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
