PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of properly preventing or restraining hot water in a plurality of coiled tubular body portions wound in a lapped state from boiling by being heated to a high temperature by a combustion gas. SOLUTION: This water heater A comprises a combustor 1 and a heat exchanger B, the heat exchanger B has a plurality of hot water flow channels including the plurality of coiled tubular body portions 40 for heat exchange, wound in an approximately concentric lapped state, and a combustion gas is supplied from the combustor 1 to an internal spatial portion 3 of the innermost coiled tubular body portion 40. In this water heater A, an orifice 48 is disposed in the hot water flow channel including at least the coiled tubular body portions 40 near an outer periphery among the plurality of hot water flow channels, and a water passing amount of the coiled tubular body portion 40 near an inner periphery is more than that of the coiled tubular body portion 40 near the outer periphery.
