PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw feeder capable of positively supplying a comparatively accurate amount of powder particles even when the powder particles are highly viscous. SOLUTION: The screw feeder is equipped with a horizontally-placed cylindrical body 8 forming a conveyance path for the powder particles P from a supply port to a downward discharging port 10, and a screw 9 disposed in a substantially concentric state on the cylindrical body 8. A damper 18 for shutting off the conveyance path is provided to the screw feeder to be movable along the direction of an axis L of the cylindrical body 8 from an open side A to a closed side B of the downward discharging port 10, and pressed by an energizing mechanism 20 toward the closed side B. A laterally-facing discharging opening part 21 for discharging the powder particles P is opened in the damper 18. The powder particles P near the downward discharging port 10 can be discharged from the laterally-facing discharging opening part 21 when the damper 18 moves to the closed side B of the downward discharging port 10.
