PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic retracting type stretchable strap, replaced with the conventional shoulder strap regardless of the structure of a bag by an automatic retracting simple mechanism when the shoulder strap is not used, thereby solving the problem wherein when it is not used, it hangs down to be clumsy-looking, when it is taken off from the shoulder, it is troublesome to keep it at every time, but when it is left undone, it rubs the ground to be dirty or wear away, although the shoulder strap for hanging down the bag from the shoulder is convenient to carrying a heavy bag or rainy day when an umbrella is held in the hand. SOLUTION: As shown in Fig. 1(a), a ring 2 through which a folded strap 1 is passed is pulled by a stretchable member 3 such as rubber, whereby the strap 1 can be retracting twice as long as the stretched distance of the stretchable member 3 such as rubber.
