PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of surely reporting to an operator that prescribed amount or more of dust is accumulated in a dust collecting part unit. SOLUTION: When the dust amount of the dust collecting part unit 22 detected in a dust amount detection means 112 becomes the prescribed amount or more, a lift-up mechanism 114 reports that by lifting the dust collecting part unit 22 upwards from a main body dust collecting chamber 9 by a prescribed distance by a motor while energizing the dust collecting part unit 22 upwards by a coil spring. The fact that the prescribed amount or more of the dust is accumulated in the dust collecting part unit 22 is surely reported to the operator by the dust collecting part unit 22 lifted upwards from the main body dust collecting chamber 9.
