PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily and firmly fix seed yarns Y, spliced onto a surface 21A of the body 21 of a breeding member for algae on the breeding member 2 for the algae in a simply producible structure. SOLUTION: The breeding member 2 for the algae comprises the seed yarns Y which have spores, etc., of the algae sticking thereto and are spliced onto the surface 21A of each body 21 of the breeding member for the algae for growing the algae. In the breeding member 2 for the algae, each insertion port 213a for inserting the seed yarns Y, each fixing port 213b narrower than the insertion port 213a and notched parts 213A, 213B, 213C and 213D for fixing, provided with each communication groove 213c for making the insertion port 213a communicate with the fixing port 213b are formed in the body 21 of the breeding member for the algae.
