Provided are mobile communication terminal and a mobile speed detection method by which a mobile sped can be highly accurately detected. A mobile communication terminal (10) is provided with a first mobile speed detecting section (30) and a second mobile speed detecting section (32) employing different detection methods, and a detected speed selecting section (34) for selecting either the detected speed value obtained from the first mobile speed detecting section (30) or that from the second mobile speed detecting section (32), based on a prescribed selection reference.
