<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the start diagnosis required at restart for the occurrence of the failure of an information processor and to reduce starting time. <P>SOLUTION: When a failure occurs, a failure detection control part 30 registers the location of the failure in a failure location database 42 and puts up a start diagnostic flag 51 indicating the occurrence of the failure. During start, a device diagnostic control part 20 refers to the start diagnostic flag 51 and the failure detection control part 30 performs start diagnosis only on the location of the failure if the start is due to the occurrence of a failure; if the start is not due to the occurrence of a failure, the failure detection control part 30 performs start diagnosis on all parts to be diagnosed. A start retry flag 52 indicating that the diagnosis has failed during start is provided; if the diagnosis fails during start, restart is performed and the failure detection control part 30 performs start diagnosis on all the parts to be diagnosed. The time of the start is registered in a start history database 41 and the failure detection control part 30 performs start diagnosis on all the parts to be diagnosed even for the start that occurs a certain period of time after the previous start. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
