<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syringe and a plunger rod, which is resistant to impact of dropping or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The plunger rod includes a first shaft part 61 on which a piston is mounted, and a second shaft part 62 projecting backward. On the second shaft part 62, a flexible hook part 63 is provided. During injection by movement of the piston, the first shaft part 61 and the shaft part 62 are integrally moved in the axial direction to a casing. As the shaft part 62 is further pushed into the first shaft part 61, the hook part 63 abuts on a connection part and housed in an insertion hole, where only the second shaft part 62 is movable.
