PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liver function improving agent excellent in safety and liver function improving function.

SOLUTION: Functional foods effective as a liver function improving agent and trophically functional foods, containing buckwheat sprout as it is or powdered form thereof, are provided, wherein the buckwheat sprout is obtained by sowing sprout of Fagopyrum tataricum of Polygonaceae in a sprout container and cultivating to be white radish sprout-like and the powdered form thereof is obtained by lyophilization or the like. The buckwheat sprout daily dose is preferably 0.01-10 g/kg body weight and may be divided to administer several times a day.
