PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a separate manufacturing work in the base of a consuming region by eliminating the necessity to newly develop controller software. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus capable of combining a scanner part for monochrome or a scanner part for color with respect to a plotter part for monochrome includes image processing means C to be commonly used for monochrome and color, which processes monochromatic image data and color image data to be input via interface means B', B from readers A', A exclusive for the respective scanner parts for monochrome and color. The image processing means C processes the monochromatic image data when the reader A' for monochrome is connected and processes the color image data when the reader A for color is connected.
