PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle travelling controller and a vehicle travelling system for shortening an inter-vehicle distance to travel a vehicle while securing safety by detecting relations with surrounding vehicles. SOLUTION: The controller detects whether or not a collision avoidance space R1 exists by means of steering around a vehicle A2, and controls travelling so that an inter-vehicle distance D1 to a preceding vehicle A1 if the space R1 is wider than a predetermined space. Thereby, in travelling while forming a rank with other vehicles which have been travelling around, the controller may shorten the distance D1 to travel the vehicle while avoiding the collision with the preceding vehicle A2. Therefore, the controller may suppress intrusion of other vehicles in a vehicle group forming the rank and secure the safety of travelling. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
