PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process produced cutting chips into parts by surely controlling them when performing finish machining in simple cutting and particular, in copying cutting. SOLUTION: A cutting edge 4 having a corner section 4A is formed on the periphery of a rake face 4 of an insert body 1. The rake face 2 of the inner side of the corner section 4A is provided with: a projecting 5 having a space between the projection 5 and cutting edge 4; and a pair of projected sections 7 with a projected height lower than that of the projection 5 projected on both sides which interpose a bisector L of the corner section 4A between the projection 5 and cutting edge 4. A rib 8 which is extended along the bisector L from a cutting edge 4 side rather than the projected sections 7 to a bisector L direction and is narrower than the distance between the projected sections 7 and lower than a projected height of the projected sections 7 is formed between the projected sections 7.
