An artificial blood vessel of small bore diameter that exhibits desirable patency, having high strength, and that exhibits appropriate bioabsorption performance, being employable even in high-pressure system, such as an artery of systemic circulation; and a process for producing the artificial blood vessel of small bore diameter. There is provided an artificial blood vessel of small bore diameter comprising a multilayer tubular structure coated with fibroin, the multilayer tubular structure resulting from multilayer braid knitting of fibroin threads. Further, there is provided a process for producing an artificial blood vessel of small bore diameter, comprising the steps of forming a multilayer tubular structure by multilayer braid knitting of fibroin threads; and coating the multilayer tubular structure with fibroin. |
