A steel sheet for continuous cast enameling which has non-aging properties and is excellent in the unsusceptibility to fishscaling of an enamel coating formed by one enameling operation; and a process for producing the steel sheet. The steel sheet contains, in terms of mass%, 0.003-0.010% C, 0.03-1.30% Mn, 0.001-0.100% Si, 0.0002-0.010% Al, up to 0.0055% N, up to 0.035% P, up to 0.08% S, 0.005-0.085% O, and 0.055-0.250%, excluding 0.055%, Nb, the remainder being iron and incidental impurities. The steel sheet is preferably characterized in that an Fe-Nb-Mn composite oxide is present in the steel sheet, the composite oxide has a niobium mass% concentration distribution therein, and the ratio of the niobium mass% concentration in a high-concentration part (Nb max%) to the niobium mass% concentration in a low-concentration part (Nb min%) satisfies Nb max%/Nb min% = 1.2. |
