The method involves separating a block of ceramic raw material by saw blades arranged in a preset distance to each other in a cutting direction. The block is rotated by stacks of ceramic raw material with respective rectangular cross section. The stacks are rotated around a rotation angle relative to the direction and inserted in matrix-shaped arranged saw patterns in a supporting device, whose side lengths respectively corresponds to the distance. Corners of the inserted stacks are removed and projected from the patterns, where supporting bars of the device are made of hard metal. An independent claim is also included for a supporting device for manufacturing a stack of ceramic raw material with polygonal cross section.
