A fishing reel equipped with a level winder is provided to be manufactured easily, to be used for a long time, to be installed, maintained and repaired very simply and to make fishing string wound on a spool evenly. A fishing reel equipped with a level winder includes a couple of side wall portions(12), a spool(22) and a level winder device. The spool is supported between the side wall portions to rotate, and winds or unwinds a fishing string. The level winder device adjusts the fishing string to be wound on the spool evenly from the front side of the spool. A transverse shaft(38) that is mounted between the side wall portions slantly is installed on the level winder device. The transverse shaft includes a vertical shaft, collars(44), a center part and a passing-through part. The collars are installed on both sides of the vertical shaft.
