<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can achieve high speed print processing while taking account of the memory area of an RAM. <P>SOLUTION: Before starting print processing for a print request, a print processing program 16A and print processing data recorded in a serial ROM 16 are copied to an SDRAM 17. A decision is then made whether font data 16B or demonstration print data 16C is required or not in the print processing performed in response to a print request.
