<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change-over conversion gain with neither complicating the structure of a pixel part nor reducing an aperture ratio. <P>SOLUTION: A solid state imaging apparatus includes: an FD part for storing electric charges corresponding to a light receiving amount; an amplifier transistor 22 having a first terminal, a second terminal, and a third terminal which is connected to the FD part; and a reading means (29-33) for connecting a power source to the second terminal of the amplifier transistor 22 in a first mode, so as to read a signal voltage corresponding to the electric charges stored in the FD part from the first terminal of the amplifier transistor, and connecting the power source to the first terminal of the amplifier transistor 22 in a second mode, so as to read the signal voltage corresponding to the electric charges stored in the FD part from the second terminal of the amplifier transistor.
