PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state imaging device which can output not only the signal of an image picked up for every frame but also the variation of a signal with time for every pixel. SOLUTION: The solid state imaging device comprising a plurality of photoelectric converting sections PD formed on a semiconductor substrate, and a circuit for reading out signal charges corresponding to detected light is further provided with a first analog memory section Re1 which can receive charges outputted from the photoelectric converting section PD and store the received charges temporarily, a second analog memory section Re2 which can receive charges held in the first analog memory section Re1 and store the received charges temporarily, and a differential amplifier section 50 generating a third signal depending on the difference between a signal of charges held in the first analog memory section Re1 and a signal of charges held in the second analog memory section Re2.
