PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading lens ensuring good image formation performance always even if warpage of a line sensor is varied due to environmental variation such as temperature variation, and to provide an image reader employing it. SOLUTION: The image reading lens 100 comprises image formation lenses 101-104 for forming a shrunk image of the image information of a document surface 200 on a line sensor 300, a member 105 for holding the image formation lenses as a plurality of lens groups, and means 107, 108 and 110 for adjusting the air interval between at least one set of image formation lenses depending on the temperature variation.
