PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 3,9-bis(2-chloroethyl)-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5.5]undecane simply in a high yield and in an industrially good efficiency. SOLUTION: This method for producing the 3,9-bis(2-chloroethyl)-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5.5]undecane by reacting acrolein with hydrogen chloride and pentaerythritol is provided by performing the reaction by maintaining the amount of hydrogen chloride in the reaction liquid always as≥0.15 fold molar to water. It is more preferable to perform the reaction by maintaining the amount of hydrogen chloride in the reaction liquid always as≥0.17 fold molar to water.
