Method for applying a pattern of fine, electrospun fibers or strands (22) containing them to a web (12) comprises moving the web in relation to the spinning electrode (16) as the fibers are produced and bonding the fibers to the web. Independent claims are included for: (A) a machine for carrying out the method comprising a frame (10), over which the web is stretched and held at an angle to the horizontal, a spinning electrode, a counter-electrode (14) under the web and a voltage source (20); and (B) webs with fiber patterns applied using the method.
